Imidapril is a non-sulfhydryl ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitor prodrug used to treat hypertension, chronic heart failure, myocardial infarction, and diabetic nephropathy. It functions by preventing the conversion of angiotensin I into the vasoconstrictor angiotensin II, reducing blood pressure and heart strain.
