| Salmeterol is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) bronchodilator used via inhalation to treat asthma, COPD, and exercise-induced bronchospasm. It works by relaxing bronchial smooth muscles, keeping airways open for approximately 12 hours. It is not a rescue medication and must be combined with a corticosteroid for asthma. |
